STANKEY
My career has been diverse to say the least. From entertainment manager to emerging artist, I have been involved in the "creative" industries for over 45 years.
In March of 2020 I contracted COViD 19 nearly dying from blood clots causing a pulmonary embolism. This life or death event triggered an existential crisis and after fighting through it for 8 months on myhis own, I entered a 90 day trauma treatment program to get the help I needed.
It was there in treatment on April 12, 2021 that I painted my first piece ever. I discovered art and painting as a way of expressing my emotions, passions, love of life and love of music. The shapes and colors I hear come from a condition called synesthesia. I am a true outsider with no formal training.
I paint using oil, acrylic and watercolor and use canvas, paper, cardboard, panel and recycled materials.
Currently I have gallery representation in the US, Germany and Spain and my work is selling and being sought after for commissions by designers and by serious art collectors.
